I do not know how my grandmother came by her full given name, but I love this: Full name; Martha Dora Ida Telitha Telula TAYLOR ( She shortened it to Lula) I think she liked the name , because she told us many times about her full name. I found her on the 1900 census as Dora, but she prefered Lula, and this was the name she used after she was an adult.

Lula told us about her family when we were children. She told us several times her full name was Martha Dora Ida Talitha Talula Taylor Jourdan Baker. As children we were amazed with her name. She also said she was the only one her siblings with brown eyes as she looked like her Grandmother Green. According to my Lula her grandmother Betsy Richardson Green was Native American.
